Morris Graves Museum of Arts - Best of Show

My pastel painting won First Place at the Morris Graves Museum of Art Juried exhibition December 2022. The juror was Humboldt Cal Poly University professor Annakatrin Burnham. Following is what she wrote about my painting:

"A steadfast resonance reverberates from the center point of this work. It expresses confident technical execution and assertive compositional rendering. Energetically, this work provides a visual coalition between light and dark. The ominous blues and greens are held in place by the glow of yellow and pink. The dividing horizon line incorporates a panoptic environment adding force to the action expressed." ~Annakatrin Burnham
